I have a node that I did a backup of a directory.
I then replicated that data to its partner node on the destination TSM server.
The data in the directory on the client is being deleted (at the source site).
I set the retain only to 9,999 days.
Now the only restore ever done from this node will be at the remote site.
There is no DR requirement for this node if site 2 collapses.
So I assume I can
- break replication (remove nodes from replication at source and destination)
- (Yes I verified that the node DOMain policy is active and the retonly setting is the same)
- remove the node on the sources site
- $1,000,000 question: At the remote site how will the TSM server know that the files have been deleted from the client and that it must enable the retain only setting?
- If I stand up a server with that nodename at site 2 will the q backup on that TSM client correctly show the files ready for restore?????????????
