Hello.

We are in progress on setting up node replication from source SP 8.1.3 server to destination SP 8.1.3 server and there is less space available on the destination server than on the source server, so my question is- if the source server has multiple different separate file stgpools, can they be replicated to for example to one directory stgpool on the destination server which in turn deduplicates the data even more from prementioned multiple source stgpools and eventually saving space on the destination server which as prementioned has less overall space than the source server?

Can there be any problems with new extents being created at the destination server, are the new extents/extra deduplication even possible in that way-(multiple source stgpools -> one destination stgpool)?

Thanks for any advice on this.

Teet Saar.

I think it's possible, but you will likely need to use dissimilar policies so that the target copy groups point to a different storage pool than the source copy group.

Certainly something you will want to test first.
