Hi!

we will set up a NAS-Filer from NETAPP next year, so i am already looking for configuration hints.

some questions:

- ist it correct that i can't use an existing devclass. i need dedicated drives because of devtype=NAS?
- mismatch in redbook and "h backup node" in tsm 5.5.5.0
it seems 5.5.5.0 can do snapmirrortape!?
- toc pool is only needed when using BACKUP IMAGE but NOT when using snapmirror.
- if we use TSM-backup only for DR. We dont need single File Restore(TOC) from Tape, so we dont need BACKUP IMAGE and can use SNAPMIRROR.

Hi!

After reading publib.boulder instead of the redbook i found the following that should answer my question about dedicated drives ^^

For example, if a drive is to be used for both Tivoli Storage Manager and NDMP operations, enter the following commands:
define path server1 nasdrive1 srctype=server desttype=drive
library=naslib device=/dev/rmt/tsmmt0
define path nasnode1 nasdrive1 srctype=datamover desttype=drive
library=naslib device=rst0l
