Hello, I was looking for advice regarding the best way to handle archived NDMP backups. We have file servers that contain data sorted by quarterly dates...such as FSTEST2012A, FSTEST2012B, etc...
These volumes are no longer actively written to but they still have daily Diff and quarterly Full backup schedules.
I was planning on deactivating the daily Diff schedules and leaving the Full schedules as is, so that TSM would still get updated quarterly regarding expired data. Part of the reason I wanted to do this was to reduce some of the overnight tape mounts and tape volume updates for little or no data.
Or, is the best practice to leave the daily Diff schedules and deactivate the quarterly Full backups ?
The retention on this data is 7 years and it is rarely needed for a restore.
Please let me know if any other settings or info is needed to clarify this question.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you
