Hello SSAMers,

We use
- IBM Content Manager
- SSAM
- NetApp/Snaplock
for archiving.

Now we want to migrate the data from the old NetApp to a new NetApp.
Has anyone experience with this kind of migration?

We see two possibilities for the migration.

1. Migration using NetApp mirroring.
Problem: The hostname changes with the new NetApp. Therefore all names of the existing file volumes will also change.
(From \\aaaa\xxxx\yyyy to \\bbbb\xxxx\yyyy)
But we see no way to change the volumenames.

2. Migration using SSAM
Problem: Is it possible to use "move data" or "reclamation" with SSAM?
(From \\aaaa\xxxx\yyyy to \\bbbb\xxxx\yyyy)

Best regards
Andreas.

In my limited understanding is that is not possible to use Netapp mirroring for any data being managed by a storage manager like SSAM.

The reason for this is the metadata tracking that SSAM does for all archive data used by Content Manager.

SSAM should have native tools to do data moves or migration but I have limited knowledge of SSAM.
