Hi!

we want to do a filer backup for desaster recovery only. no single file restore or whatever.
Full Backup each Week (sa)
Diff every day (mo-fr)

whould these retentions be ok?
DEFine COpygroup PD_NAS NAS MCB-V10 STANDARD Type=Backup DESTination=NAS-TAPEPOOL VERExists=10 VERDeleted=1 RETExtra=10 RETOnly=10
vere=10, max number of files in backup that exist on filer
verd=1, max number of giles in backup for files that have been deleted on filer
rete=10, max number of days to keep an inaktive version of an existing file
reto=10 , max number of days to keep a file that has been deleted from the server
this would give us the ability to go back 10 days at max, correct?

i read about some installations having different nodes for full and diff!?
does that make any sense?!?

retention policy looks good to me (providing you are doing backup once a day)

but in regard to nodes question - what would be the purpose? Different storage pools? (Tape vs Disk)?
Or rather different retention policy (to keep full backups for longer period of time)?

But personally I have no experiences with such diffrential (partial) incremental backups.
