Linux CentOS 6.6, lin tape?

I read in an IBM article that lin tape is not supported in Redhat 6.x and above. Has anyone used lin tape in CentOS/RH 6.x? If not, what is the alternatives?
 
Not true (well, 6.6 probably is not supported yet, but 6.x in general is)....just look at the lin_tape fix list:

FWIW - I've seen a lot of problems with 6.6. I think it needs some time to stabilize...
