Hi All,

Recently we migrated the Tape library 3584 to a differnt DC . Now we are experincing problem with the tape Element addresses ,elemtn address in the LIB MGR doen;t match with the Element address in TApe Library GUI .

We see all the TSM Sever volumes going in to unavailable state . all these tapes were simply taken out during the move rather than manual checkout .

All the Tape in the Luibrary GUI are showing as unassigned volumes , Normally they should show up under some library partion of 3584 , as we do checkin manully we assign them to Tape Library partition from the TSPE LIB GUI then checkin

There seems to be two problem in this

1. Tapes are not assigned to the Library Partitions in the Library GUI .

They should be assigned back to the Respective partiion based on the TSM Volume entries ?

Please suggest , currently TSM Servers see all the volumes going to unavailable state due to this

2.Element Adress conflict between LIB MGR and the Actual Library LIB GUI

Does Audit Library fix this ?

I don't know the answer to question 1

To question 2, yes when there's a mismatch between the physical library inventory and TSM's library inventory, an audit library will update TSM's inventory to match the physical library.

NOTE that the audit will not do anything to the physical library inventory, it will just update TSM's to match the physical. So if the physical library inventory from the library GUI does not match what's in the library, you need to fix that too.
