Hi,

"Cyclic redundancy check (CRC) validates storage pool data when audit volume processing occurs on the server" and "ensure the integrity of data that is stored in your storage". So, running an audit volume when the CRC paramter of the storage pool is turned off does not ensure the integrity of data?
What is the purpose of running an audit volume in such circumtance?

Here is what 'help audit volume' say:

3.4.4 AUDIT VOLUME (Verify database information for a storage pool volume)

Use this command to check for inconsistencies between database information and a storage pool volume. Processing information generated during an audit is sent to the activity log and server console.

CRC has nothing to do with an audit of a volume. CRC is write checking method when writing backup data, and it involves an audit function to check that data is valid.

Thus, doing an 'audit volume xxxxx' is not the same as the CRC audit.

Thank you, moon-buddy. You're right!
