Install Monitoring and Reporting does not finish (stay forever)

    Hi:
    I am trying to install TSM Monitoring and Reporting from 6.2.2.0-TSMRPT-TSMALL-WindowsI32.zip on a dedicated Windows 2008 Standard 32 bits sp2 spanish edition. (quad core, 3 GB RAM, 50 GB Disk)

    I read all informations about it on infocenter: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infoc...itsm.srv.install.doc/t_rpt_inst_wiz_proc.html

    It begins very well, but it stay forever (> 12 hs) on a windows dialog saying: Installing ... "Tivoli Storage Manager Monitoring Agent"

    There are no errors messages.

    Something that I miss?

    Have you check the log file of the installation?

    I just verify log.txt file (on c:\ibm path). I don't see any error or failed message.

    IBM people found the workaround to solve this. For all people who experiment this situation:

    Diagnosing the problem

    If you are installing the Tivoli Storage Manager for Reporting and
    Monitoring feature and the installation process hangs on the Tivoli
    Storage Manager Agent for more than 60 minutes, the operation is
    stalled.

    You can verify that the process is stalled by checking the following
    file:

    <install_dir>/itm/InstallITM/IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Storage ######
    ##### ####.log
    Where ##### are numbers relating to todays date

    Example:
    C:\IBM\itm\InstallITM\IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Storage 20100515
    1755.log

    Look for the following entry in the file. It should appear at the bottom
    of the file.

    Updated BuildPresentation.bat: call InstallPresentation.bat
    WIN-ZFDTIDO7JM0 KHD KIT KIW KSK KSY KTM KUM >> BuildPresentation.txt 2>>
    BuildPresentationErr.txt


    Resolving the problem

    To resolve the stalled process, complete the following steps:
    1. Open up a taskmgr.
    2. Select the Process tab.
    3. End the "KfwServices" process.

    The installation continues. After the installation completes, issue the
    following command which will setup the Tivoli Enterprise Portal entries
    for the Tivoli Storage Manager Agent:
    <install_dir>\itm\CNPS\BuildPresentation.bat

    For example:
    C:\IBM\itm\CNPS\BuildPresentation.bat
