Hi,

We have a TSM server version 5.5.1.1 in Windows 2003 Enterprises SP2, which runs perfectly without any issues.

We have our Domino server running in RHEL 5.We do a backup of all nsf files on daily basis.

The issue is we have around 2500 Mail box's which is around 500 GB of data's traveling in the network.I can remember that for doing incremental backup on domino server should have transaction log enabled.

Can any one share documents or a step by step guide which will help me to configure the incremental backup in Domino server..

Aroon

You need to enable archival logging mode in the Domino instance, then enable archival logging on whichever NSF/NTFs you want to protect using this method.

Initially its a Domino level config - the rest is in the TSM for Mail manual.

Hi Aroon,

as tonyB already wrote: the TSM/TDP installation is well documented.

Some things concerning the Domino part:

- in order to get one full backup per week our Domino admins issue a "compact -B" on Fridays; this will
change the DBIID of all nfs's and thus forcing a full backup when executing your next incremental schedule

- as TonyB said, ArchivalLogging must be chosen on Domino; the space needed to store these logs shouln't be too limited - the Domino server will crash if it can't write its logs

- the TSm/TDP job to archive these logs should run more than once a day

In our case (for a Domino server like yours) we use at least 30 GB dedicated space for the transaction logs and run the archivelog-command every 4 hours
