I have a 3582 library, and TSM 5.3 installed on Win2k3 server. All was working fine. But a few days ago, the library and FC Switch were shutdown (programmed). Now, the TSM server start and a few seconds later the TSM server stops automatically. The windows event viewer just say: The TSM Server service terminated unexpectedly. Where can I find any log that tell me what is happening and why the server does not start.

thanks

One option is to execute the dsmserv manually & check what error messages it shows.

I already did it. no messages show. The TSM server service start and a seconds later stop.

Hi,

look for dsmserv.err and dsmsvc.err files. Really no errors in the actlog? If it does not help try to enable TSM TRACE feature (beware, it can create HUGE trace file in just a few seconds)

Can you post the exact Event log messge here?

Hope it helps

Hi,

it seems that you have a DB related problem - if it is corrupted than it means you need to restore it from backup

Are yout DB volumes all present and writable? Is your log large enough? (you can extend ti using "dsmfmt" and "dsmserv extend log" commands)

Let us know your progress

Hope it helps

Thanks for your sugestion Harry. I did dsmfmt but it doesn´t work. Then I restored the database and all work fine. The problem was that the external storage shutdown unexpectly causing data corruption.

Thanks to all
