HSM and Disaster Recovery

Hi All,

I am implementing HSM on some windows 2003 servers and a question has been raised regarding the DR strategy and how it is effected?

I have an onsite-HSM storage pool that has been created to house the migrated files. Should I create a seperate offsite-tape-storage pool? Or use the existing one.

Is there a HSM / DR best practise?

I am using HSM on a few Solaris systems. We currently have ~25TB stubbed. We implemented separate storage pools to house the data at the primary data center, but grouped the storage pools at the DR site instead of the primary site for each TSM server. We also created an onsite storage pool backup so the switch over to copy is done without intervention (ie. restore vol). Multiple ways to configure, just depends on your needs.
