How to reset Admin Password (DSMADMC)

Hi All ,

I don't have the Admin password . How do i set a new password for it ? .

I lost the password to my personal ID and have locked it in the process because of failed attempts. I have to recover it using the Admin ID .

Note : It is a Windows Machine on which the TSM server runs .

Login to Windows as the instance owner.

Stop the TSM Server service.

Start the TSM Server in the foreground.

Reset the admin ID password.

Halt the TSM Server

Start the TSM Server service.

Not able to start the server in foreground . Getting this error . Please see the screenshot .


Note : I have admin privileges on the server

Login to Windows as the instance owner.

That's the ID that owns the Spectrum Protect server database. The Windows admins don't have access to the database, only the instance owner.

I logged in with the tsminst1 ID to the windows server and it worked . Thank you @marclant
