Hello,

I would like to store to a offline storage some Domino databases. I think it's not possible to archive Domino databases (because TDP for Domino doesn't allow that).

My question is : How can I do that kind of archive ?

Cordially,

I would bring down Dominoe, using a separate Policy set

Archive the entire Dominoe path/drive etc... outside of the TDP - from the client.

Bring Dominoe back up when completed.

Hope this helps

Hmmm.

I run three different TDP backup schedulers on Domino clients.

1) Mon-Sat and backs up the data for 90 days.

2) Once every other Sunday and backs up the data to a management class with a backup copygroup using a retention of 2555 days (7 years).

3) Once every other Sunday (opposite Sunday from the one above) that goes to a copy group with a retention of 365 days.

This requires three schedulers, each pointing to a different .opt file. This also requires that three node names are defined, one for each scheduler. Either way, it all gets backed up, automatically, without taking down domino, to the TDP, and makes for an easy restore.

Depending on the number of databases in your environment, and the other technologies at play (such as LAN-Free), maybe this will work for you.
