hi, i have a burning question hoping you can please brighten my day: My Export command is working and i can see the .EXP files being written to the new Data Domain.
From my TSM adsm> command line, how can i list the .EXP volumes being written to the Data Domain? for example: adsm> query vol * devclass=DD9300EXPLOC

I am able to see volumes for DB1 but where are the the .EXP volumes? see them from TSM adsm> command line?
please see attached images - i compared Device Classes: DB1 and DD9300EXPLOC

Thank you very much for your response,

Nasri

Q VOL shows you volumes defined to a storage pool. Exports are not storage pool volumes. You will need to look at Q VOLHISTORY TYPE=EXPORT

thank you so much!....indeed very helpful response.

Would you please let me know if i can send this output to a text file? for example:
adsm> Q VOLHISTORY type=Export > Exports1.txt

here an example of my output first page:

Hi Marclant,
i found this command to backup the volhistory: backup volhistory

Would you know where is this data save?

or better question is, do i need the volhistory to recover my Exports?

My Exports are working fine -saved to the my new Data Domain-.

Question is: When i run an import (from another TSM Server), do i need anything else from the current TSM to recover the Export (.exp) files? Thank you very much!

Hi Marclant, just wanted to circle back with you regarding the Exports. it seems that i also need a copy of the adsm> Query VolHistoory Type=Export >Export.txt <-- save it to secure place - to be used when doing an import (for the sequence of the .EXP flat files (or tapes)). If you can think of anything else needed, please advise.
Thank you again, Merry Christmas and Best wishes for the New Year!
