Hi all.

I remember reading something about 2gb HBAs producing about 175mb/s tops...
What about 4gb HBAs? Are we talking double the mb/s? In know, it all depends on the backbone of the cards, but generally? About 300-350mb/s or is that far fetched?

Thanks.

I know that I see higher numbers than 175MBps out of most of my QLogic 2Gbps HBA's.

I will say that I haven't fully saturated any of my 4Gbps QLogic 2462's.

I've gotten 391MB/sec out of a 4GB HBA, that was with an ideal (large sequential) IO workload though. 2GB I've gotten to about 190MB/sec. Results will vary depending on your OS, your driver type (eg storport vs scsi port in windows), switches, and end device though.

HBA Speed

As per my experience the comment is true.
