Hi,

We are very soon getting ready to build out a multiple TSM Server environment (2 TSM Servers initially) to share a 9310 STK Library and 16 x 9840B drives.... we are using ACSLS 6.01.

Question: Is it advisable to dedicate volume/bar code ranges to each TSM Server.....

It implies that in the Gresham manual, but I was hoping to see if other folks are doing similiar, or have any advice in that regard.

Any advice or tips would be appreciated...

Thanks,

Steve

We have been running in the same environment that you have been for quite some time. We have one scratch pool where both of our TSM servers pull from. It should not be a problem with gresham because gresham is only tracking whether tapes are in our out of the library. Your TSM servers will track which tapes they are controlling. We have not seen any major problems as a result of this.
