Hello,

We are using the GPFS file system on Linux and using HSM to migrate unused files from disk to tape (LTO). Recently, we received a request to delete a large number of files. Some of these files are on disk, and some are migrated to tape, of course. Now, if I run a bash script to delete these files from the Linux file system using the 'rm' command, will this eventually remove the files residing on tape?

Or will it only delete the 'stub' file from the disk, leaving the migrated files on tape orphaned?

Thank you
