Windows Server 2016 64bit
TSM4VE 8.1.11

Full-VM-Restore using the TSM4VE UI runs for ~30min then fails:
  • ERROR ANS4177E Full restore of VMware virtual machine 'SRV00-PRT-01' failed with RC=14, mode='Full', target node name='<NODENAME>', data mover node name='<DATAMOVER>'
  • ERROR ANS1314E (RC14) File data currently unavailable on server
I tried to pick another snapshot to restore, same result.
When I try to mount the snapshot for file-restore instead of Full-vm-Restore it works fine.

Error-Log shows only the same messages, plus this one:
ANS9351E Data was not available on server and was skipped.

I read about trying to set the vmvstortransport to nbd only, didn't help unfortunately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

On the SP Server, check the actlog around the time frame of when we receive the "ANS1314E (RC14) File data currently unavailable on server" message occur.
There may be an issue with the tape drive or that the tape is not in the tape library.

Good Luck,
Sias
