I inherited a bit of a mess here and am trying to find a way to dig out of this hole. I have an Avamar grid that was setup to do an NDMP backup of 1 file system 4 times a day with 7 year retention. This grid is no longer used for any active backups. I would like to extract all of this data and dump it on a file system so I can decom the grid. Otherwise we will have to do hardware and software upgrades on this system till 2023.
The data owner isn't willing to risk the loss of any data. So the only way I can see to approach this from a restore perspective would be to run 4 restores for every day of the year for the 5 years remaining. That would be something like 7,200 restores of a 4TB file system and I think that would take beyond 2023 to complete. As far as I know there is no "incremental restore" feature to only restore data that is new between jobs.
Is anyone aware of any 3rd party data migration tool or service that could extract this data?
