Hello,

We have GPFS and TSM for HSM is set up on our VSD nodes. Problem is that users on GPFS client nodes have no way of telling whether a files has been migrated. The dsmattr command is great, but it is part of the TSM HSM package which is not installed on GPFS client nodes.

Do you know of any other way users could tell that their files have been migrated? Installing TSM for HSM on every GPFS clients, and making every GPFS client an HSM client of the TSM server as well a headache for me.

Thanks,

Andras

The only thing I found is GPFS' "mmlsattr -L <filename>" command. If the file has been migrated, the Windows Attribute is set to OFFLINE. I couldn't find any description on this, but form my own experience, it seems to work.
