Hi
Please no jokes until we have recovered. But we had the following situation
DS4300
2 arrays
1 was good, 1 was offline
Added the last 4 disks, the offline array complained that the original disk has been removed, I guess the previous admin must have had a disk in there and then removed it, so I couldn't get it on line.
I backed up the profile and config files.
I clicked on the offline array and yes, I reset it since all the disks were new.
Now all 14 disks are 'empty' and available. It happened very quickly so is there a possibility that the data is there but the config doesn't know where to assign what to?
If not then, of course we have a tape backup and I will reset the disks and restore from tape, but was hoping an expert may be able to help.
