Direct to Tape Configuration

Is it possible to setup the TSM directly backup data to tape ??

If it possible is there any configuration should be done ?

Yes it's possible.

First you should define a device class of type tape and then create a storage pool associated with the device class tape.

Then configure the destination of the backups in "copy group" of the default management class of the domain to have as destination the storage pool you previously created.
