I have a 3494 which has to volsers in it's database but the volsers no longer exist. There is nothing wrong with the TSM database, it's just the 3494 database. I want to know how I can remove these volser's from the 3494 database. An mtlib query shows the following information:

root@tsmsvr1[/admin/dev/drm]# mtlib -l /dev/lmcp0 -qV -V 000032

Volume Data:

volume state.........Volume was Manually Ejected

logical volume.......No

volume class.........3590 1/2 inch cartridge tape

volume type..........EHPCT extended length

volser...............000032

category.............FFFA

subsystem affinity...01 02 00 00 00 00 00 00

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

root@tsmsvr1[/admin/dev/drm]# mtlib -l /dev/lmcp0 -qV -V A00936

Volume Data:

volume state.........Volume present in Library, but Inaccessible

Volume is Misplaced

logical volume.......No

volume class.........3590 1/2 inch cartridge tape

volume type..........HPCT 320m nominal length

volser...............A00936

Thanks,

There is an option on the 3494 control panel to perform an inventory. Your CE can show you exactly where in the control panel. This will rescan every slot in the library and update the information in the 3494 database.

Depending on the size of your library, this could take several minutes to over an hour.
