Hi,
I have a tsm server whose database files are held in /tsmlive1/db with mirrors in /tsmlive1/dbm. The database is backed up daily using backup db with a full backup going to one tape library and a snapshot to an offsite library.
A faulty client option set has resulted in tsm backing up the contents of the 2 directories above as if they were normal files from a normal client. This is obviously a huge waste of tape space so I want to run a delete filespace to get rid of them.
Am I right in assuming that these files can't be used to restore the tsm database (if I somehow lost all my 'proper' tsm backups) and are, therefore, just wasting tape space. I'm a bit wary of deleting 4TB of files which might turn out to be needed.
