Just wondering if i am able to dedicate specific tape drives to specific storage agents so that only the storage agent will use the tape drive.

I do not want any other TSM processes using the same tape drives that i have my storage agents pointing to.

    thanks

One technique that I know of is to create unique DEVCLASS and Library (logical) names for each instance.

don't define / delete paths from TSM server to drives, leave only paths from storage agent to drives.

I doubt that last option is possible.
How would the TSM server be able to mount a tape in a drive if it does not have a path to the drive?

I think the TSM server will always be able to use the same drives as the storage agent. Which makes sense for things like space reclamation

Keep the TSM server path to drives defined, but set online=NO.
