Hello all,

I am new on TSM, please excuse me if my questions seems silly

I'm doing google searches but no clear paths for me.

in recent weeks, I have problems around the base BD2
/ home is often full and the db2sysc process is all the time more than 100%

this morning we resize the fs, since the process is 130%

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND

9043 tsminst1 20 0 45.9g 39g 38g S 137.9 62.2 144:31.14 db2sysc

17906 root 20 0 15572 1848 952 R 0.7 0.0 0:00.07 top

138 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0.3 0.0 0:16.88 kswapd0

Have you ever Stand face this problem? can you give me your experience?
I'll open a ibm incident.

thx a lot

Hmm I can´t think why that is, but you might take a closer look at your db2diag.log. Since I do not work with tsm anymore ( that bugs me really hard ) and I now am an DB2 Admin I could help you if there is an DB2 problem underneath.

The question to answer is why is /home getting full?

First of all, what is your TSM server version?

Look to answer these:

1. Have you defined the active and archive logs in /home?
2. Is the db2dump directory getting lots of core dump or LOG entries?
3. How often do you do FULL DB backups?
4. What is the size of your active and active LOG volumes?

If you have case (2) above and the sizing of the LOG volumes are correct (and not getting full), consider placing a support call to IBM.
