Hi,

I'd like to know why my DB size didn't decrease after I deleted almost all the backups and archives I had and all the volumes in the storage pools. Is there a command to clean the DB or something. I don't want a DB full of waste when I restart my backup jobs.

Thank

Are you talking about the size on disk? Or space inside the DB? If you look at Q DB F=D, you should see that the number of free pages available. That's free space in the DB that can be written too.

If you are looking to reduce the space occupied on disk, which has nothing to do with the space available in the DB, then follow this:
https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21683633#Release_1

I'm not talking about the size on disk. When it do the DB backup for my DR plan, the size of the DB was around 435gb. After I deleted all backups, archives and volumes, it's still 435gb.

As expected.

Don't understand why. You can explain?

Ok, thank for the explanation to both of you.
