Greetings.

Was wondering if anyone out there had any experience of a Datadomain head swap and the necessary reconfiguration with TSM in regard to VTL definitions.

I'm expecting to rezone to ensure the appliance can see the TSM servers. However, in addition I was expecting to complete the steps in the attached link:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I did a head swap from a DD890 to DD7200 2 years ago.

And, yes, you need to run the fiber zoning again IF you did not move over the Fiber cards from the old to the new head. You only have to update WWN between the switch and the new head. All others should remain the same.

DD has a head swap routine that transfers the profile correctly between two heads. The only thing that you need to make sure is that the DDOS is at the same level on the two heads.

In my case, the head swap took 6 hours to complete (including the physical moves), run the WWN changes, and I was off and running.
