Hi,

We are planning to Upgrade TSM server from 6.3 to 7.1.
Proposed methodology
1. Install 6.3 in New AIX Box
2. Backup and restore DB backup to new server
3. Test backup and restore activity with version 6.3 in New server.
4. Then upgrade 7.1.

For testing backup and restore, we want to create new logical library and assign a drive to new Server.
We would like to do this after installing TSM 6.3

Library Stats
90 Storage Slots
6 Drives
6 I/O Slots

Our agenda is assign 2 storage slots and 1 drive to new server for testing purpose. After that we plan to delete the logical library assign back resources to existing logical library.

Kindly suggest a "Best Practice" for creating a logical library.

Regards,
Mohan

Are you licensed for creating logical libraries in the TS3310?

Hi Mohan,

Did u got something to find IBM TS3310 tape library licensed for creating Logical Libraries?
Since i am also running under same scenario, i would like to know the process of license details to create a logical library.
What type of license its required and is there anyway that we can check from library GUI?
