Hi All

Is it possible to configure tsm to use a different network (nic) for stgpool replication traffic between two tsm servers in different sites ? If so how do you do it ?

Thanks
Craig

Hi,

It's possible, but it would not be limited to replication, it would apply to all traffic between the source and target Spectrum Protect servers.

To do so, you would use a different hladdress (IP address) in your server definitions. The routing of that traffic to a different network would have to be handled outside Spectrum Protect. For example, if you have 2 network cards, with 2 different IP addresses, but both network cards can reach the hladdress, the OS will decide which one to use. However, if you put an hladdress that just one NIC can reach, the OS will be forced to route the traffic through that NIC.
