After my colleague left company I need to work with TSM and I hoped you could help me with few questions.

How I could chek these things:

1) How many backup versions TSM saves?
2) How long TSM saves deleted files?
3) Encryption is turned on or off?
4) How often TSM creates full backup?
5) How large (TB) is all backup?

Thank you for you help!

Hmm I think I searched in that book and I could find information for example about how many backup versions TSM saves but I couldn't find information how I can find that information. I think there should be some command that could show me that?

Since I do not know what version of the TSM Server, and os, that you are running.

Here is the link to the TSM 6.2 Admin Reference Guide, it contains all the commands that you need.

3) Encryption is turned on or off?

query devclass f=d

4) How often TSM creates full backup?

If you are talking about TSM Clients.
The only time that the TSM Client perform a full back is when the client is newlly installed and perform a backup to the TSM Server for the first time.
The next backup will be an incremental backup.

5) How large (TB) is all backup?

query occupancy - This is not going to get the info that you are looking for.

If you want to find out how large is ALL the backup, your going to need n
SQL select statement. NOTE: Depending on the SQL Select that you issue, the TSM Server will take a performance hit. In rare cases, the TSM Server may crash.

Good Luck,
Sias
