Checkin not working right on a 3494

When we do a checkin on our 3494, it fails to pick up all the tapes. We then have to cancel the procesees for the tapes that were missed (Which can be over 40 processes!!) and then do a second checkin. The second checkin will then grab the remaining tapes. Does anyone have an idea as to why the first checkin doesn't pick up all the tapes? It's a real pain killing all those processes every tim we do a checkin.



I believe we are using Version 4

Why not let the 3494 tell the TSM server what tapes to checkin?



checkin libvol search=yes checkin=scratch checklabel=yes devtype=3590



It will then checkin all tapes in the scratch category to TSM as scratch. Works for me for the last 3 years.
