CAC fastback for Workstation

Want to update/upgrade workstation from 6.3 to 7.1.3.
My question is what step do I need other than the new version downloaded.
Do I need to edit configuration files somewhere somehow, or will the configuration files be over written after deployment?

Just update and all previous old settings should be kept.
