Best method to backup stg VTLPOOL to LTO COPYPOOL

Hello,

I have a protectier VTL defined with 60 drives and a TS3200 with only 2 LTO5 drives, I need to take tapes offsite in the morning after all backups are done.

BACKUP STGPOOL takes a lot of time to copy VTLpool to LTOCOPYPOOL, it only use 1 lto drive. After enabling MAXPR=2 on BACKUP STG command, it did´t work, only 1 process was started for copy.

What do you think about enabling AUTOCOPY on VTL pool, can it work to speed up BACKUP STG process?

Hi!

Check mount limit number for device class for storage pool LTOCOPYPOOL. I also have TS3200 and i set Mount limit=Drives. Each backup process needs a mount point for copy storage pool volumes, and, if the device type is not FILE, each process also needs a drive.
