    HI,

Can some one explain backup copy group with an example, When the mode is set to modified. I am a bit confused.

And also please explain me the difference between libvol and vol and any other way to perform reclamation, Other than reclaim stgpool command?

    Thanks in advance,

Refer to 'TSM concepts guide', It explains more enough of copygroup. Understanding the policy management is quite tricky in sole TSM.
There are 4 parameters in backup/archive copygroup which holds the details of how we treat the backedup data. Read the copygroup section thoroughly, let us know If u still have any queries.

libvolume- are the volumes exist in the library (eg: physical tapes, virtual tapes), they will be only of type sequential
volume - are the volumes exist in the library and server (eg:disk & tape volumes) , they will be mostly of type sequential and random

You can also use "upd stgp STGPOOLNAME reclaim=xx%" for reclamation

Hiii I also have the same doubt about the mode parameter in the copy group,
First i have taken a full incremental backup with "mode=modified".

    PRDDMWEB1:/tmp # dsmc incr /home/* -su=yes

And i had changed the "mode=Absolute"

I got the same output as above.

I have studied in the help page of the copy group in that " ABSolute
Specifies that Tivoli Storage Manager backs up the file regardless
of whether it has been modified."

    Please clarify this.

    Hiii newtotivoli ,

libvol -- (library volumes) these are the volumes you checked them into the tsm control.
volumes ---- volumes defined in the storage pools.
