When the BA-Client GUI changed in Version 6 from GUI to JAVA-Gui, the logon function in the file action bar is removed. For several reasons it is not possible for me, to start each GUI with the option -virtualnode. Has anyone an idea, why they removed this function in the Java-Gui. Should I create an enhancement request at IBM?

Did you try using dsmc? I thought that still uses a password.

DSM Java GUI - logon function disappeared

with dsmc I have no problem. I am still missing the function in the Java-GUI dsm. We can start the gui with the option -virtualnode but this is not, what we want.

Oh, I see, misunderstood your request. Let me try again.

I see from the Client that you can set the password to prompt.

'Edit' > 'Preferences' > 'Authorization' tab
Under 'Password Access'
Select 'Password Prompt'

There are other options in there as well. Also, I would like to think there is a way to script this from install but let us know if you find that out.

I think you are confused. This was not the question in the post.

The issue is the "DSM" command that launches a GUI.
