Greetings all.

TSM 7.1.1.0 and Datadomain DD860

I'm running an audit libr <library_name> checkl=yes on a locally attached VTL.

I had a dsmadmc -con session running at the same time...

The audit libr command completes successfully without reporting the volumes mounted/dismounted.

Previously I've run this command post maintenance upgrades but am somewhat baffled with this as I was expecting mount/dismount messages in the console session.

Hope I'm not going crazy...

Thanks in advance.

Any entries on the actlog to point as to what is going on?
Other than the actlog reporting the audit has started and completed successfully I can't see anything.

It's very peculiar. I'm thinking the console session should have reported volume mounts/dismounts despite the device being a VTL?

Just had a thought - should I have turned on some TSM server tracing to enable this?

I forgot this. If you are using VTL, TSM will NOT mount virtual tapes. Instead it will just pass on the process to the virtual library to do the audit.

Thus, you will not see mounts.
