Archive Options TSM

Hi every one,

Is the archive option in tsm is limited to the flat file or we can archive VM with TSM for Ve or DB ?

Archives do not work with VMs. If you need to keep certain VMs long term, you can send specific ones to a different management class with a longer retention: https://ibm.biz/Bd4vST

So except Flat files we can't archive anything with other TDP client (For mail,For DB , etc..) ?

I don't believe so, same as VMs, you would need a longer retention period if you want to keep it longer. Some use a two node approach. One for their daily backups, and one for monthly or quarterly or yearly backup that they keep longer.
