ANS2079E - The unknow error code ...

Hello,

Today i got an error "ANS2079E" on Windows 2008 (VM).

ANS2079E Error processing '\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy7': error scanning snapshot

I try to found explain on google, but no information about "ANS2079E".

Any one got information on this error code ?..

vssadmin list writers

and paste the output here

VSS is a big pain in the "you know what". If I was you I would look into TSM for Virtual Environments agent. Don't mess with backing the VM up internally and skip all the VSS nonsense.

check eventviewer log for to get more details, maybe do not have enough disk space, permissions or maybe windows have low performance on that moment

try backup again

Could you please provide me "vssadmin list writers" command output and also check if any writers are in failed status.
