Hello All,

Iam trying to recall approx 11,000 migrated files but the recall comamnd fails with the following error..

"ANS1030E System ran out of memory"

Please help..

rgds,

This is on AIX 4.3..

I have tried setting the ulimit (rss,nofiles etc..) for root user to unlimited but no luck..

Instead then we are trying the method of "dsmmigfs remove <HSM F.S>" so that it recalls all the files but this seems to be taking ages to complete..

I had started HSM removal on one of the filesystems (20,000 Files , 20228140 KB) on Sat Apr 16 09:16:49 EET and it is still running with the following output..

========

Tivoli Storage Manager

Space Management Interface - Version 4, Release 1, Level 2.0

(C) Copyright IBM Corporation, 1990, 2000. All Rights Reserved.

Reconciling '/panz/hsm' file system:

Reading the current premigration database...

Read 27 entries

Querying the TSM server for a list of migrated files...

Received 18084 entries

Now traversing the file system...

Removing the stale pre-migrated DB entries...

Removed 0 entries

Expiring migrated files on the server...

0 files exceeded the 0 day expiration period; removed from server

0 files newly marked for expiration

0 files previously marked for expiration

Recalling all migrated files....... this may take a while.

==============

Number of migrated files is decreasing but very very slowly...

any way of speeding this ??

Aleem
