PREDATAR Control23

Hello IBM SP specialists

I have 2 IBM SP servers (8.1.6.100) on Windows Server 2012r2, both server exhibit the same behavior:
If I restart the Spectrum Protect server (by using Halt command or any other means), the first time I'll do a DB BACKUP command I will get the following error:

"ANR0424W Session 12 for node $$_TSMDBMGR_$$ (127.0.0.1(49262)) refused - invalid password submitted.(SESSION: 12)"
The DB backup will still proceed successfully.... and after that any other DB BACKUP command will proceed successfully without any warning or error message.. Until I need to restart the Spectrum Protect server again...

I included here a copy of Q ACTLOG,

Hopefully you guys can help me and tell me if I need to worry.

open a case for this - this is something we need to look at...
pull the db2diag file and see what db2 is complaining about and possible sense code error.
open a case with support.

Hi, I know my by-pass is ugly...
If you remove the folder "C:\ProgramData\Tivoli\TSM\baclient\Nodes\$$_TSMDBMGR_$$" before, the backup of DB is proceed successfully.
First of all I have a node SERVER_ITSM (server prompt schedule style).
I made I server script:
- DEF CLIENTACT SERVER_ITSM ACT=C OBJ="a script wich removes the folder" WAIT=YES
- BACKUP DB

Just a quick question, you also got the same warning messages I got and you fixed the problem with this script?

PREDATAR Control23

Yes. Try first:
- remove the folder "C:\ProgramData\Tivoli\TSM\baclient\Nodes\$$_TSMDBMGR_$$"
- Make a backup (expect to be ok)
- remove again the folder
- Make a new backup

I'd recommend opening a case with support. There is something going on with your instances. The database is not something you want to be playing around with in my opinion.

I agree with you. It is only a bypass to make a backup without halt. Not to live with that.

PREDATAR Control23

You guys have convinced me, I will open a case with IBM , see what fix they have for that problem. I will keep you guys posted.

Thanks for your help!

PREDATAR Control23

Hi! It seems I've just hit the same issue but upon the restore of the database... @Lordriki did you managed to solve it with IBM support ?
