Hello ALL

I am trying to use the centera for long term archive with TSM on AIX and was wondering if anyone is doing that or has some information to share.

We have went to an all disk solution so we have no tapes in our environment. We have CX700's for disk pool storage and replicate those to our DR Site. But do not want to use the CX700 for archive storgae prefer the Centera which is also replicated.

I realize I need an AIX client , I have seen info for Solaris tools and Windows tools that use centeraping, centerverify and a centera viewer.

I have followed the TSM Redbook configuration and have a pool/special management class set up. When TSM tries to connect to the centera for a server DS5 I get the errors listed below:

Environment

AIX 5.2 64 bit

TSM 5.2.3.4 64 bit

TSM Client 5.2.3.4

Centera

I can connect to the centera from my desktop the CenterViewer is 3.2

Are you doing LAN-Free to disk? Or is this just a SAN attached array to the TSM server? I have done LAN-Free to disk and the configuration has to be perfect or it just wont work.

We are not doing any LANFREE backups. It is a single TSM Server that is SAN attached. We have 15 TeraBytes of SAN Storage for the TSM Server and our disk pools are out on the 15 TeraBytes. WE have 7 dsikpools ranging from 1 TeraByte to 5 TeraBytes. The diskpools sre mirrored/replicated to our DR Site. WE would like to use the Centera for archive storage it is network attached.

hi,

you need to define the HLA parameter in the centera devclass

this looks like

High-level Address: 10.4.4.5,10.4.4.6?tsm.pea

the ip adresses are reflection the access addresses of on centera cluster

the pea (pool entry authorization) file

if anonymous connect is forbidden (recommended) you need to create a profile with

specific access rights and a pea file for this profile (centera tools)

releases before 5.2.6 could have case sensitivity problems for the pea file definition.
