Hi,

I'm getting the following error repeatedly in one of my aix servers,

B6048838 0131073209 P S SYSPROC SOFTWARE PROGRAM ABNORMALLY TERMINATED

I have tried to find solution for this,but no luck..Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue..
 
What does a errpt -a | more for that error give you? You will at least get to see the UID and if lucky the program name as well...

From the above result,one of the point I understood is something problem with rmt15,I checked the rmt15,its working fine..I don't understand the CORE dump thing..Can you please clarify me..
 
The post aboves contains 4 entries, 2 for "software" error which crashed the program owprivilegemonitor6 which seems to be OpenWBEM. Check for logs for that program? Maybe under /usr/local/logs? Or some LOG directory within the OpenWBEM install path. Try to match the time of the error from within the errpt.

The other errors you have, are tape errors. The problem may not be the drives but the tapes themselves. Check the activity log of TSM for hardware errors concerning rmt15. it could be harmless errors, could be simply a bad tape (if the errors are always on that same tape) or a bad drive. If you get many errors concerning rmt15, consider having IBM change it...

A core (core dump as it is usually called) is a dump of the what was in memory for that application at the time it crashed. it can be used to debug the problem. You need a utility to properly read a core dump...

Can you tell me regarding the utility which is used to read the CORE file,as the problem with the rmt15 is solved and I don't see anything from the logs.
