Hi All,

Anyone setup 10GB ethernet on aix. I have a;
Feature code #5721
10GB Ethernet-SR PCI-X 2.0 DDR Adapter on AIX 5.3.8.1
Firmware KN0150

Can ping ip but cant do anything else such as ssh etc. Have checked firwall etc, ports. Error report - ethernet down, ethernet recovery mode - only occurred once.

Thanks

Thanks Denis,

The system firmware is the latest. SF240_338
This should include the planar.

What speed is the adapter set to and what speed did it connect to? entstat -d {ent#}

I think there was part of the 1Gb/s and 10Gb/s spec that adapter and switch both have to be set for auto/auto for it to link up correctly.

Thanks Heada,

Adapter Data Rate: 20000
Packets Discarded by Adapter: 3211

Looks like most packets being dropped. The data rate 20000,
normal 1gb card is Adapter Data Rate: 2000
Packets Discarded by Adapter: 0

I need to check the switch is running at 10gb

Confirmed switch is a 10gb port and running at 10gb.
