Anyone ever have 2 APIs on one DB2 server pointed to 2 different TSM servers?

Pulling logs from one and backing up to another.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure. This is the proposed method by the DB2 DBAs to have a 2nd database up to date in the event of a disaster. I am open for suggestions. In fact please suggest away.

They call it "log shipping". A log is cut every 100MB and sent to TSM. Then every 15 minutes that log is "shipped" to the 2nd site.

I assume there's a better way, however our DBAs are blind to options.

Thanks again

Do you really need the API to pull logs?

Tell 'em to get off their bums and do the log shipping themselves ;)

TSM is a solution used to protect and restore data, not sync databases.

I'm pretty sure you don't need the API to backup the logs. The DBA's can run a backup command for a specific location and back them up that way.
