We have 3 failed drives in a Quantum DXi8500. The drives are supposed to be hot swappable but we are having problems replacing them.
Prior to swap the error state is flashing amber and blue LEDs (with audible beep alert)
When the HDD is replaced it goes green for 10 seconds or so then returns to blue/amber state. Drives are still showing failed. We have reached out to Quantam but the DXi is EOSL. The manual states that Individual drives are hot-swappable but then continues by saying...
"Caution:Changing drives is to be performed by qualified service technicians using Quantum-approved procedures. Removing hard drives during system operation may cause loss of data or degraded system performance."
So i am not sure if a procdure needs to be done before they are swapped. Anybody any experience with these and can help.
