Hi,

I just installed the new TSM v8.1 on a Windows server 2012R2. It was succesfull at first. But when I tried to use the config wizard for the DB and the logs, I got error message.
Here the messages:
ANR0900I Processing options file D:\tsm\server1\dsmserv.opt.
ANR4726I The support module has been loaded.
ANR0152I Database manager successfully started.
ANR0338E Database create terminated.
ANR2678E Server database format failed.

Format Completed with Return Code 499

I search on Google for what cause that problem but nothing I tried work.

Anybody can help please.

Thank.

Hi,
which user are u login and configure ?

create instance user and try for details see below.

Format Completed with Return Code 499

Symptom
There are no additional error messages in the Upgrade wizard screen. The file Format.out does not get created.

Cause
The user id created for the Tivoli Storage Manager instance has not been added to the DB2ADMNS or DB2USERS group

Resolving the problem

Add the Tivoli Storage Manager instance user to the DB2ADMNS and DB2USERS GROUP by running the following on Windows command line:

net localgroup DB2ADMNS user_ID /add
net localgroup DB2USERS user_ID /add

Log off and log back on as the Tivoli Storage Manager instance user and run the upgrade wizard again.

HI,
I tried to use my own domain admin account and the local admin account that is in the ADMINISTRATORS, DB2ADMNS and DB2USERS groups. It's always giving me the same messages.

can you try create tsminst1 and try again

i have done before installation it was worked fine
net user tsminst1 tsmadmin@123 /add
net localgroup Administrators tsminst1 /add
net localgroup DB2ADMNS tsminst1 /add
net localgroup DB2USERS tsminst1 /add

one more thing u need to create below folder in new user instance and Dont do it on administrator account

DB001
DB002

activelog
archivelog
activemirrorlog
archivefailoverlog

I tried that but still have the same problem.

Thank marclant but I already read most of that. I open a service call to IBM to see if they can help me.

I have found it is related to Microsoft patches. Patch up your server and try again.
I had same issue with Win 2008 R2 and TSM server 7.1.8
I was looking into trace files and tried manually to run the command that fails. Then I get an error described here:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21987593

Patched Windows (there is an superseding patch) and it worked after restart.
