I have a storage pool that I would to consolidate into the least amount of tapes. Whenever I run reclaim stgpool localtape th=1 very little data gets moves. How can I get all this data into one or two tapes? Thanks in dvance for helping me.

Hi
Filling tapes cannot be reclaimes. Checg rhe stgpool settings for collocation. This should be none.

Now you can move data 'move data TAPEVOLUME'

Select the tapevokume with lowesr fillinglevel.

Why? If it's not broken, don't fix it.

The amount of free space is irrelevant with reclamation, it's the amount of reclaimable space (reclaim pct). A tape filling can potentially be reclaimed, if enough data expired to create enough empty spaces in the middle of the data to increase the reclaimable pct.

BTW, when TSM needs to write to a tape, it always picks a filling first, so those tapes will fill up eventually.
